​Transportation and Logistics (BA)

The Transportation and Logistics undergraduate program was formed in order to meet the needs for skilled workforce in the rapidly developing logistics sector of the world. Since the logistics sector is in a close relationship with other sectors in order to meet the demands for goods and services, as well as the fact that logistics is the most important competitive advantage in the international trade system, provides the graduates with a wide working area.

Transportation and Logistics Undergraduate Program provides a unique education in international transportation and logistics at the highest academic standards is recognized across Europe as well as in Turkey. As globalization, technology and new economy establish an international trade platform where competition becomes fiercer, the possession of a logistics service that provides fast and effective flow of goods and materials across countries has been a source of competitive advantage for firms. These developments in the markets create a strong demand for a high quality transportation and logistics education in global perspective. New ideas, new products and new markets demand new insights, tools and responses. Our faculty has one unified faculty as a global hub for transportation and logistics education in our region.

Skills Awarded
Our graduates can,
1. Use both theoretical and practical knowledge in logistics and transportation management for business management solutions.
 2. Use both theoretical and practical knowledge in logistics and transportation management for engineering solutions.
3. Define, identify, formulate and solve key operational problems related to transportation and logistics area.
4. Access to information and research for this purpose by using databases and other sources.
5. Work well-disciplined in teams and take responsibility.
6. Independently work on operational processes and problems regarding transportation and logistics concepts.
7. Develop projects and organizations about logistics field. 8. Organize and direct team activities and plans.

Graduation Requirements
Students must complete 240 ECTS with a minimum GPA of 2,00 taking at least 6 electives and prepare dissertation or make an internship in order to take Bachelor's Degree

The Transportation and Logistics undergraduate program was formed in order to meet the needs for skilled workforce in the rapidly developing logistics sector of the world. The graduates of our faculty have obtained the right to enter the certification exam for the Senior Managers Certification exempt from further training, this certification is required by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication for companies which intend to operate in the transport sector. Our graduates have also right to directly obtain the mid-level manager certificate which is also issued by the Ministry of Transport.

​Transportation and Logistics Management (MA with Thesis)

The two-year Masters of Arts program allows students to earn a master’s degree in Transportation and Logistics Management. Program aims to train academicians in the logistics field for universities. There are the other missions of this program that contribute to the academic life – industry cooperation, provide to solutions for real sector and enhance to scientific research in transportation and logistics field in Turkey.

In 2014, the School of Transportation and Logistics have under signed an accreditation agreement with the International Road Transport Union (IRU), which will entitle all of our undergraduates to the Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in addition to their master’s degree. The graduates of our faculty have obtained the right to enter the certification exam for the Senior Managers Certification exempt from further training, this certification is required by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication for companies which intend to operate in the transport sector. ​International Logistics Management (MA without Thesis)

As a pioneer of the transportation and logistics education, Istanbul University School of Transportation and Logistics opened the International Logistics Management Programme (MA without thesis). In this master programme, courses will be given by the professionals and academicians who are experienced in the logistics field.
Considering the fact that there is an increasing importance given to the transportation and logistics sector internationally, students graduated from this programme will benefit from the content of the programme in their academic and professional careers. 

The content of the programme consists of mainly Logistics, International Trade, Law, Economics, Management fields. The language of the programme is Turkish and there is no scientific preparatory programme for the students from other disciplines. Courses are given after hours in order to give an opportunity for the professionals working during the day to attend the classes. In addition to compulsory and elective courses students need to complete a project for graduation.

​Intelligent Transportation Systems (MSc)

Intelligent Transportation Systems which is among the priority areas in 2023 vision of Turkey has become a focus of interest for many companies and institutions. In January 2018 with the approval of Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Istanbul University School of Transport and Logistics completed the preparation and application process of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Master Programme. The programme will be open starting from the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year.

The programme is opened under the Institute of Science and Technology of Istanbul University. Intelligent Transportation Systems Master programme will be interdisciplinary. By the leading role of School of Transportation and Logistics, the programme will be carried out jointly with Computer, Civil, Electric Electronics, Maritime Transportation Engineering Faculties. This Master programme will provide qualified academicians in the area of Intelligent Transportation Systems.
