School of Transportation And Logistics Is The First Faculty With Support Of The Sector
Istanbul University School of Transportation and Logistics was founded in 1999 with the contribution of various companies and organizations in the transportation and logistics sector particularly International Transportation Association UND and the Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers (UTIKAD). School of Transportation and Logistics was established in 1999 in order to train specialist who are going to take roles in shaping the logistics industry in terms of national and international relations. Since its foundation, many students have been graduated from Turkey’s first logistics school, STL. STL consistently leads Turkish logistics industry by its efforts to educate the required human resources and contribute to transportation and logistics policies as a reputable educational institution. In 2015 STL became faculty with extended academic staff and also first transportation and logistics faculty of Turkey. Since 2015 Faculty of Transportation and Logistics keeps extending its edges as well as logistics sector.

Pioneer in Logistics Education
Being the first transportation and logistics faculty, STL leads to open the first graduate program with thesis in transportation and logistics and shapes graduate education of transportation and logistics in Turkey.

Specialized Staff
Courses are given by the lecturers specialized in the field of transportation and logistics. Academicians carry out various projects and certification programs with the cooperation of the private sector.

Interdisciplinary Curriculum

Transportation and Logistics Undergraduate Program involves the substantial courses from the field of Logistics Management, Business, International Trade, Industrial Engineering.


  • Undergraduate program is a 4-year program. 
  • English preparation education is optional. 
  • Language of education is Turkish. There are professional and general foreign language courses. 
  • There is a mandatory internship program after the completion of 6th semester. Students are obliged to complete the internship program in order to graduate from faculty.
  • Within the body of faculty there are two student clubs run by the students named Logistics Club and Culture Club. All the activities of these clubs are organized by the students. 
  • The graduates of our faculty have obtained the right to enter the certification exam for the Senior Managers Certification exempt from further training, this certification is required by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication for companies which intend to operate in the transport sector. Our graduates have also right to directly obtain the mid-level manager certificate which is also issued by the Ministry of Transport. 
  • Collaborations are made with various organizations and companies which are actually operating in the sector. These collaborations are carried out in various ways; supporting the internship of our students, sponsorship of activities performed by the school administration or the students, supporting activities carried out to promote the industry, sponsoring of field trips and studies etc. 
  • The International Transporters Association (UND) provides the special scholarship for our faculty’s successful students. The School of Transportation and Logistics has Erasmus+ agreements with 10 creditable institutions from Germany, Portugal, Poland and etc. 
  • Within the scope of our faculty, certification programs regarding the applications in the transportation and logistics sectors are organized.
